The Office of Global Partnerships (GP) is the direct link for the private sector to collaborate with the Department of State. With a department-wide mandate, our office institutionalizes best practices for partnership and private sector engagement. Offices, bureaus, embassies, and consulates across the Department initiate and implement public-private partnerships. Here are several examples of ongoing partnerships currently implemented by GP:

Diplomacy lab

Diplomacy Lab is a public-private partnership between the Department and U.S. colleges and universities to conduct research around various Department-identified topics in priority policy areas including women’s economic empowerment, sustainable development, human rights, countering violent extremism, global health, and energy security.

franklin talent exchange program (ftep)

The Franklin Talent Exchange Partnership allows for private-sector organizations to advance diplomacy efforts on key policy issues. It may allow for firsthand insights into the world of foreign policy and development by sending your employees to the Department of State to serve as consultants.

The Minerals Investment Network for Vital Energy Security and Transition (MINVEST) is a public-private partnership between the U.S. Department of State and SAFE Center for Critical Minerals Strategy to promote public-private dialogue and spur investment in strategic mining, processing, and recycling opportunities that adhere to high environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.

p3 impact award

The P3 Impact Award highlights exemplary public-private partnerships from across the globe that are improving local communities and the world in the most impactful ways. The award gives partnership practitioners the opportunity to reflect on current developments in P3 implementation, as well as inspiration for further innovation.

An action-oriented series aiming to unite various sectors of Ukraine’s recovery. Through interactive events, the Ukrainian Partnership Series fosters collaboration among governments, corporations, NGOs, and more. Aligned events receive communication and resource support, promoting shared goals and strengthening U.S-Ukraine ties.

WiSci Girls STEAM Camp

The WiSci (Women in Science) steam camp partnership seeks to address the gender gap in education, particularly in STEAM disciplines, and to empower young women globally. The partnership works to achieve this by creating and delivering partner-led curriculum in STEAM, leadership, and empowerment to inspire and support young women interested in higher education and careers in the STEAM fields.
