U.S.-Pakistan Women’s Council

The U.S.-Pakistan Women’s Council is a public-private partnership that seeks to increase women’s economic participation in Pakistan by catalyzing commitments from the private sector, civil society and government leaders in both countries to advance women’s economic empowerment in Pakistan.

Established in 2012, the second phase of the Council was launched in 2019 as a partnership between U.S. State Department and Texas A&M University in cooperation with the private sector, non-profit organizations, and academia in both countries.  Our members demonstrate that women’s participation in the economy is not just good for the world, but also good for business.  Between 2012-2018, the Council reached 236,000 people in Pakistan.
