CANDIDATE: Manisha Singh

Manisha Singh has been the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs since 2017. She also was designated by President Trump as the Acting Undersecretary for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment. Working closely with the current Charge d’ Affairs a.i., she has provided oversight and guidance to the USOECD mission. She built relationships with the US team there as well as foreign counterparts and OECD leadership. She is current on the issues we face in the organization and on how we can advance U.S. global economic interests there. Her prior work as a Deputy Assistant Secretary of State also provided her with experience and insights for this role in maintaining U.S. leadership in this important international organization. During her tenure as staff to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, she handled congressional oversight of the OECD including U.S. participation and budget contributions.

Ms. Singh’s private sector experience at multinational law firms and in the financial sector provide her with a unique perspective into the real-world impacts of global economic policy. Her exceptionally diverse, distinguished career in the legislative and executive branches, private sector and law firms make her a well-qualified candidate to be the U.S. Representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Ms. Singh earned a B.A. at the University of Miami at the age of 19, a J.D. at the University of Florida College of Law at 22, and an LLM in International Legal Studies at American University Washington College of Law. She also studied at the University of Leiden School of Law in The Netherlands.
