This session will entail negotiations on the proposed chapters of the draft convention covering international cooperation, technical assistance, preventative measures, mechanism of implementation, final provisions, and the preamble. Ambassador (ret.) Deborah McCarthy, the U.S. Lead Negotiator for the AHC, will serve as the head of the U.S. delegation, which includes officials from the Departments of State and Justice. The United States continues to seek consensus towards the adoption of a narrowly focused criminal justice instrument which advances international cooperation to fight cybercrime, while respecting human rights and supporting multi-stakeholder engagement.
