The U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce Robert “Bob” Clark as the United States Commissioner General at the next World’s Fair, Expo 2020 Dubai, opening October 1, 2021. Commissioner General Clark will serve as the Expo’s senior U.S. government representative. In this role, he will lead a team showcasing American culture, values, and technology to a global audience.

Mr. Clark has a lengthy career in the private sector, serving as Founder and Executive Chairman of Clayco, a commercial real estate development, engineering, architecture, and construction company with interests in markets across North America. Prior to establishing Clayco, he was a partner at Machine Maintenance and Equipment Company (MMECO) and Project Director at Clark Painting Company, one of the nation’s largest industrial painting contractors.

In 2010, former President Barack Obama appointed Mr. Clark to the White House Preservation Committee. He has also served on numerous boards, including as a trustee to the University of Chicago Medical Center, Loyola University, the Central Institute for the Deaf, and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
