Ethan Rosenzweig

Ethan Rosenzweig assumed the role of Acting Chief of Protocol on August 1, 2023.  Over the past 30 years, Mr. Rosenzweig has served as a trusted advisor to President Biden, Former President Clinton, and Former Secretary of State and First Lady Clinton, executing and implementing high level engagements on the local, national, and international stage. Most recently, he served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs where he oversaw the United States’ Academic Programs and major exchange initiatives, including the Fulbright program.  Prior to joining the Department of State, Mr. Rosenzweig served as the Associate Dean at Emory University’s School of Law where he oversaw enrollment management and student services including international recruiting and engagement activities.  A native of Louisiana, Mr. Rosenzweig holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in public policy from American University, and a juris doctor from the Emory University School of Law. Following his education, Rosenzweig served as a Presidential Management Fellow for the US Dept of Education and a federal law clerk for the US District Court in Georgia.
