Janine Wynne is currently a Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Population, Migration, and Refugees and has responsibility for humanitarian assistance programs in East Asia Pacific and South Central Asia in addition to oversight of the Bureau’s budget planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation and policy. She was most recently Deputy Director of the Ukraine Task Force at the Department of State and from 2020-2022, she served as an Associate Dean for Language Instruction at the Foreign Service Institute. Prior to that assignment, Ms. Wynne was Director of the European Bureau’s Office of Policy and Global Issues (PGI). She has also served as the Acting Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia (ACE). Ms. Wynne has also held positions in the National Security Council, the Office of the Vice President, and the Office of the Deputy Secretary of State. Ms. Wynne joined the Department in 2002.
