Jennifer Bonner 8×10
Jennifer V. Bonner began her position as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Resources in the Bureau of Consular Affairs on September 7, 2021.  A member of the State Department’s Senior Foreign Service, class of Minister-Counselor, she served previously as the Executive Director of the Bureaus of European and Eurasian Affairs and International Organizations. Prior assignments include Director of the ICASS Service Center and Interagency Liaison to the Intelligence Community.  Earlier Jennifer served as the Executive Director of the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs and as Minister-Counselor for Management at U.S. Mission China (2009-2013), Management Counselor in Bucharest, Kyiv, and at the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem and GSO/HRO Moscow.  At the Department, she was the Assignments Officer for NEA/SA-EX, a Special Assistant to Secretary of State, and a staff officer in the Executive Secretariat.  She began her career as a consular officer in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Jennifer joined the Foreign Service in 1989 after earning a MA in Soviet Studies from SAIS.  She is married to OBO Construction Engineer Fred Bonner.
