Kyle Peterson currently serves as the Managing Director for Regional and Global Issues in the State Department’s Office of Foreign Assistance.  In that capacity, Kyle leads several teams that oversee and coordinate U.S. humanitarian, health, security, and development assistance budgets for State and USAID Bureaus, Missions, and Posts — over $40 billion annually.  Previously, Kyle was the Director for the Functional and Initiatives team in F, where he led a team that coordinated U.S. foreign assistance managed by State functional bureaus and USAID pillar bureaus.  From 2011 to 2018, Kyle was a Country Coordinator on F’s Near East Affairs team, where he was responsible for overseeing U.S. assistance to Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and the West Bank and Gaza, among other countries.  Kyle served in the State Department’s Office of Iraq Affairs from 2006 to 2011, focusing on Iraq’s fiscal, monetary, energy, and trade policy, as well as U.S. foreign assistance to Iraq.  Kyle holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the School of International Service at American University in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN.
