Office of Regional Security Cooperation

Our Mission

The Office of Regional Security Cooperation serves as the lead within the Department for all matters related to existing and prospective Eurasian and Euro-Atlantic arms control, nonproliferation, and disarmament agreements, in addition to security and stability arrangements concerning conventional and non-nuclear weapons and forces, including the development and adoption of approaches for achieving such policies. Additionally, the office leads efforts globally to assist other States at the regional level to reduce the risk of armed escalation or miscalculation and improve trust and transparency by sharing U.S. expertise in risk reduction and helping broker agreements or arrangements between States to promote strategic stability.
