The School of Language Studies (SLS) is happy to welcome all new language students to FSI! SLS is here to support you throughout your language training and we have an abundance of resources to help you succeed in learning the language and culture of your ongoing post.

The next Language Training Orientation is scheduled for February 26th, 2024.

Beginning July 3rd, 2023, language instruction at FSI will be conducted in-person five days a week at the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center, 4000 Arlington Blvd., Arlington, VA.   All language classes that begin on or after July 3rd will be inperson. Language Training Supervisors will provide additional information via email to enrolled students approximately three weeks prior to the start of training.
