CANDIDATE:     Leora Rosenberg Levy

Leora Levy is a civic leader, philanthropist and businesswoman. She is currently the Republican National Committee Committeewoman for Connecticut.  Her long history of leadership includes Finance Chairman of the Connecticut Republican Party from 2013 – 2015 and Finance Chair for the last two Republican Gubernatorial Candidates in Connecticut.  Her philanthropic work has been extensive.  She has served as Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Bruce Museum of Art and Science and as Chairman of the Shelter our Strays Campaign where she led a public-private partnership to create a new, modernized animal shelter in Greenwich.  Mrs. Levy was a trailblazer as one of the first female international commodity traders.  She worked as Assistant Vice President at Ambrit Sugars, and in various roles at Phibro-Salomon, Inc. including trader and traffic executive in the International Sugar, Steel and Copper Concentrates Departments.  Mrs. Levy’s leadership experience in politics and philanthropy, her experience in international business, and her demonstrated ability to get results in the projects she has undertaken, make her a strong candidate for U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Chile.

Mrs. Levy currently serves on the Board of Soldier Strong, chairs the Shelter Our Strays Advisory Board, serves on the Board of CT Rising Stars, the Selectmen’s Nominations Advisory Committee for the Town of Greenwich, and the Board of the Parks and Recreation Foundation for the Town of Greenwich.  She also led a voluntary effort that provided furnishings and other support for the first mild Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic established at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan.

Mrs. Levy received her A.B. degree from Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, in 1978.  She also attended an Army War College National Security Seminar, in 2018.  Mrs. Levy has been honored by the Bruce Museum of Art and Science, Soldier Strong, Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities, the YWCA and the Joint Taskforce 101, Operation Enduring Freedom I, among others. She is fluent in Spanish and French.
