HomeOffice of the SpokespersonPress Releases...LGBTQI+ Special Envoy Stern’s Travel to Geneva hide LGBTQI+ Special Envoy Stern’s Travel to Geneva Media Note Office of the Spokesperson June 20, 2023 Jessica Stern, U.S. Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI)+ Persons, will attend the 53rd Human Rights Council (HRC) session in Geneva, Switzerland from June 20 to June 23. On June 21, SE Stern will deliver the intervention on behalf of the United States during the interactive dialogue following the final report from Victor Madrigal-Borloz, the outgoing United Nations Independent Expert for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. SE Stern will also meet with her counterpart Special Envoys for LGBTQI+ Rights from United Nations member states, and other members of civil society.
