Milstein Constance Milstein is an attorney, businesswoman, philanthropist, and social entrepreneur. She is Principal and Co-Founder of Ogden CAP Properties, LLC, based in New York and is an owner of The Jefferson, a hotel in Washington, D.C. Ms. Milstein has a long history of leading international initiatives, including hosting meetings and conferences with world leaders to address pressing global issues and geopolitical threats for the DLC/Third Way Foundation, Global Progress initiative, and the Humpty Dumpty Institute. She is a founding board member of Blue Star Families, the nation’s largest support organization for military spouses and children. Ms. Milstein pioneered the inventive non-profit Dog Tag Bakery, dedicated to empowering disabled veterans. During the Obama administration, Ms. Milstein served as a Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army. She played key roles with many leading nonprofits and NGOs focused on international relations, global education, and democracy building, including NDI, French-American Cultural Foundation, American Australian Council, Seton Hall University’s School of Diplomacy, United Nations Association, Refugees International, and UN Watch. Ms. Milstein’s strong commitment to public service, her demonstrated ability to find innovative approaches to global challenges, and her experience building effective partnerships among diverse stakeholders make her a well-qualified candidate to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Malta. Ms. Milstein earned her B.S. from New York University and her J.D. from North Carolina Central University. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including: Champion, COPD Award, COPD Foundation; Angel Award, Blue Star Families; Distinguished Service Award, NYU College of Arts & Science; and the Albert Gallatin Medal for outstanding contributions to society, NYU.
