The QSI International School of Kosovo (QSIK) is a nonprofit, independent, coeducational day school which is part of the greater QSI organization that operates 38 schools in 31 countries. QSIK offers quality education in the English language for students from three to 18 years of age for students from around the world. The educational philosophy of QSI is based on mastery learning and outcome-based education. QSI believes in the success of all students and uses time as a resource for learning. QSI teachers create the conditions for student success, with the goal of fostering the love of learning for a lifetime.

Organization: The school is a member of the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA) and is fully licensed through the Kosovo Ministry of Science and Technology. QSIK is accredited through the Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA-CESS).

Curriculum: QSIK provides an individualized learning experience based in Mastery Learning featuring small class sizes and an excellent teacher-to-student ratio. The curriculum is similar to that of U.S. public and private schools and is administered in the English language. All homeroom and core subject-area courses are taught by native English-speaking content-area certified educators. QSIK provides the opportunity for students to study many advanced courses in the secondary program. The school offers the College Board AP program, including offering the AP Capstone Diploma. QSIK is an approved SAT testing center. QSIK offers a rich and varied After School Activities program for all ages featuring academic, creative, and active choices for all students. QSIK is a member of the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA), which provides athletic and academic activity opportunities for middle school and secondary students to compete both locally and internationally. The school accepts children with mild exceptionalities on a case-by-case basis.

Faculty: In the 2023-2024 school year, QSIK employs 46 faculty and staff. The faculty is comprised of 33 teachers: of those 14 are U.S. citizens, 18 host-country nationals, 3 are third-country nationals.

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, enrollment was 195. Of the total, 62 were U.S. citizens, 52 were host-country nationals, and 81 were third-country nationals.

Facilities: QSIK is situated in a location that boasts both outdoor and indoor sports fields, an indoor studio gym/playroom, a visual arts studio, a maker’s space, a music room, a science lab, and a music studio. Additionally, the school enjoys a convenient location, being just a 10-minute drive from the U.S. Embassy compound and the popular neighborhoods of International Village and Marigona Residence.

Finances: In the 2023-2024 school year, 97% of the school’s income comes from tuition. Annual tuition rates are: preschool (half-day) $3,600 or (full day) $4,600; and grades K-12: $$19,000. Additionally, there is an annual $11,200 Capital Fund fee for students K-12. New students pay a one-time $300 registration fee. (Fees quoted and payable in U.S. dollars.)
