QSI International School of Skopje (QSIS), established in September 1996, is a private coeducational institution committed to delivering an American-style college-preparatory education in the English language, catering to students from preschool through grade 12. As a member of Quality Schools International, a nonprofit educational organization spanning 31 countries and overseeing 37 schools, we adhere to a unique educational philosophy. Organization: The school is governed by the Board of Directors of Quality Schools International. An advisory board assists the school in its operation. QSI Skopje is accredited as a K-12 school by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in the US and by the Macedonian Ministry of Education. It is also a testing center for College Board Exams (PSAT, SAT, AP), NWEA MAP Tests, and IGCSE exams.

Curriculum: QSI Skopje provides an outcomes-based educational program with a curriculum like that of U.S. public and private schools. Individualized instruction leads to mastery of concepts and takes advantage of small class sizes as well as the diverse educational backgrounds of the students. The school follows the QSI international curriculum, which is under a seven-year cycle of revision and improvement. The school offers the College Board AP program and is an approved AP Capstone Diploma school. The school currently offers the following AP courses on campus: AP Human Geography, AP World History, AP Seminar, AP Research, AP Biology, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, and AP Psychology. All other AP courses are offered by QSI’s online school, QVS. Each year, the on-campus offerings for AP courses change based on student interest. QSI Skopje is a member of the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA) providing athletic and activity opportunities for middle and secondary students to compete both locally and internationally. QSI Skopje provides an extensive after-school program offering sports, STEM opportunities, fine arts opportunities, and student-led clubs like DEIJ, Fundraising Club, Philosophy Club, and Ecology Club.

Faculty: In the 2023-2024 school year, QSIS has 38 total staff including 31 teachers, 10 of whom are U.S. citizens, 17 host-country nationals, and 4 third-country nationals representing the US, UK, Canada, Venezuela, South Africa, Kuwait, and North Macedonia.

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, enrollment was 132 (PreK-Grade 5: 58, Grades 6-8: 36, Grades 9-12: 38), including 37 U.S. citizens, 41 host-country nationals, and 54 third-country nationals.

Facilities: QSI Skopje is situated in 1,500-square-meter facility housing 14 classrooms, a library, a music room, an art room, a gymnasium with a rock-climbing wall, and a lunchroom. Outside, there is a 6,500-square-meter area featuring a large grass playground, a spacious field, a basketball/volleyball court, and an ecological community garden.

Finances: The 2023-2024 school year annual tuition rates are as follows: preschool (half-day) $3,000; preschool (full-day) $4,300; and grades K-12: $17,000. The school also charges an annual capital fund fee of $8,000 per student from kindergarten to grade 12 and a registration fee of $300. The school offers school bus transportation at a cost of $2,250 for the year. The school has a cafeteria and offers a catered lunch program for an additional cost of $5 per school day.
