On behalf of the United States of America, I extend heartfelt congratulations to the people of Senegal as you celebrate your Independence Day on April 4.

We take this special occasion to reaffirm our support for the Senegalese people and their enduring commitment to Senegal’s democratic traditions. The strong bonds between the United States and Senegal, rooted in our shared desire for peace, security, and prosperity, form the bedrock of our close partnership and will continue to do so in the future. We look forward to working with Senegal’s newly elected government in the coming weeks.
