On behalf of the people and Government of the United States of America and in commemoration of your National Day on July 7, I extend warm greetings and congratulations to the people of Solomon Islands.

For more than 80 years, our stories have been linked through shared sacrifice and optimism for a better future. With the official opening of U.S. Embassy Honiara, our coordination on efforts to remove unexploded ordnance, our collaboration in boosting the health and welfare of Solomon Islanders, and our shared fight against the effects of the climate crisis are helping our democracies to build that future together.

Our commitment to our bilateral relations and respect for the sovereignty of our fellow Pacific countries in the region remains strong, and we continue to work to strengthen our partnership.

On this 45th celebration of your independence, I send my best wishes and offer the United States’ hand in friendship to all Solomon Islanders on this momentous occasion.
