Special Representative Pritzker was in Ukraine on January 12 to meet senior Ukrainian and private sector officials to reinforce U.S. assistance to support Ukraine’s economic recovery and ensure Ukraine prevails against Russia’s aggression.  While in Ukraine, she met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, members of the Verkhovna Rada and other government officials to discuss progress on recovery efforts, opportunities for U.S. private sector engagement in Ukraine’s economy, and outcomes from the Defense Industrial Base Conference in December. In Kyiv, Special Representative Pritzker was joined by several CEOs of U.S. private companies supportive of Ukraine’s economic recovery. 

Earlier this week, Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker traveled to Warsaw, Poland on January 11 to underscore U.S.-Polish cooperation on Ukraine’s economic recovery. In Warsaw, Special Representative Pritzker met with senior officials in the Polish government, including President Duda and Foreign Minister Sikorski. They discussed Polish government and private sector support for Ukraine and the importance of economic assistance to Ukraine as it defends itself against Putin’s aggression.
