Under Secretary Jenkins Rolls Out the Political Declaration on Responsible Military Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Autonomy

Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Ambassador Bonnie D. Jenkins and will travel to New York City, New York, on November 13, 2023, to roll out the Political Declaration on Responsible Military Use of Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy (“Political Declaration”) at the United Nations.

In support of the President’s priority to responsibly harness the benefits of AI while mitigating risks, the Political Declaration calls for states to commit to a collaborative, multilateral dialogue with diverse perspectives to address the full range of issues related to military uses of AI and autonomy.

Assistant Secretary for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance Mallory Stewart joins the Under Secretary to brief on implementation activities for the Political Declaration.
