Awards

Two Regional Education Associations and four assisted schools, all which receive funding from the Office of Overseas Schools (A/OPR/OS), have been recognized by the International Forums of Inclusion Practitioners (IFIP) with the IFIP Global Inclusion Award 2024.  A total of 149 organizations and individuals were recognized and celebrated at UNESCO’s Global Inclusive Schools Forum  in Paris.

Regional Associations

The two Regional Education Associations represent Africa and Western Europe. Peter Bateman head of Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA), was awarded for Pathways to Transformation – AISA’S Guide for International Schools Grounded in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging, a comprehensive DEIJ Guide for educators and administrators who are committed to creating inclusive and equitable learning environments for all students, (directly funded by A/OPR/OS). The head of ECIS (the Educational Collaborative for International Schools) Kam Chohan also was recognized, as ECIS is a founder member of the International School Task Force for Anti-Discrimination.

Assisted Schools

The four assisted schools were International School of Brussels, Frankfurt International School, American Community School of Athens (two awards), and International School of Kuala Lumpur. Each school was honored for projects that brought in personalization, accessibility, and belonging to help their communities grow more vibrantly. These programs developed community stakeholders to create student success at all levels.
