About Us Office Home About Us HomeOffice of the U.S. Coordinator for the Arctic Region...About Us – Office of the U.S. Coordinator for the Arctic Region hide About Us Office of the U.S. Coordinator for the Arctic Region The Office of the U.S. Coordinator for the Arctic Region leads and coordinates the advancement of U.S. interests in the Arctic related to safety and security, sustainable economic growth, and strengthening cooperation among Arctic States to perpetuate and defend the rules-based order in the region. The Office advises the Secretary and the Deputy Secretary on all Arctic matters and leads the Department’s participation in National Security Council and interagency activities, ensuring full representation of the Department’s various lines of effort. The Office represents and advocates for U.S. Arctic interests with foreign governments and in multilateral fora. The Office works across the federal government and with the U.S. Congress, state and local government, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, the private sector, and local communities to advance shared goals in the Arctic and maintain U.S. leadership in the region toward a safe, secure, and prosperous future for all Arctic peoples.
