Antisemitism is discrimination, prejudice, or hatred toward Jews. The Special Envoy develops and implements policies and projects to support efforts to combat antisemitism. The Special Envoy was established by the Global Antisemitism Review Act of 2004. The Special Envoy provides input on antisemitism for the annual Country Reports on Human Rights Practices and the Reports on International Religious Freedom. Deborah E. Lipstadt was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 30, 2022 as the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, with the rank of Ambassador. The Office of the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism welcomes information on overseas antisemitic incidents, including personal and property attacks; government policies, including judicial/prosecutorial decisions and educational programs on the issue; and press and mass media reports.
