We rely on strong partnerships with governments, organizations, and the private sector throughout the Americas to fight transnational criminal organizations. When we disrupt illicit networks and cut off trafficking routes that lead to the United States, then we keep Americans at home safe. In addition, we work with partners to remain vigilant and counter threats posed by external state and non-state actors. By providing partner governments and organizations in the Americas security assistance to defeat and destroy violent gangs, we help keep Americans abroad safe and secure and protect our own borders. Fostering Inclusive Economic Growth
Fostering Economic Growth

We advance a fair and reciprocal trade agenda and foster growth by leveling the playing field and ensuring access to markets for U.S. firms. We promote transparent, fair business practices and work to eliminate corruption. Education, English-language access, and exchanges are at the core of our public diplomacy engagement in the Americas, because educated workers invest in their own country, stimulate economic growth, and foster entrepreneurship and innovation. Countries with strong economies and educated citizens create opportunities for U.S. businesses, which create more jobs for American workers. Learn more about our work to grow the U.S. economy.
