Security Awareness

The Transition Center offers the MQ911 Security Overseas Seminar, which is designed to meet the needs of U.S. government employees assigned overseas and their family members, in accordance with 13 FAM 301.4-4. This two-day in-person or virtual course enhances the participants’ resilience, situational awareness, and risk management skills in order to increase personal preparedness for responding to the spectrum of threats present while living and working overseas. CT401 Counter-Threat Awareness Training (CTAT) and CT650 Foreign Affairs Counter Threat (FACT), which may also be required for U.S. Government employees and recommended for their family members, are offered by the Bureau of Diplomatic Security. For U.S. private or non-profit organizations, the Overseas Security Advisory Council at the Department of State offers many resources to support the security needs of their employees overseas.
